MAD ANTHONY

I spent most of today promoting “Roller Derby Queens” a documentary about The Cincinnati Rollergirls, produced by electronic media students at Xavier University, FEATURING music from MAD ANTHONY! It airs TONIGHT (June 3rd, 2011) on WCET-TV (Ch. 48) here in Cincinnati!

Then, this afternoon I helped the most amazing screenprinting queen, Amy Weber, prepare some new T-Shirts for our friends The Dukes, who play TONIGHT (after the documentary) at MOTR pub with our other great friends The Sundresses.

THEN! I came upstairs to find a FedEx Truck standing out my front door… I knew what that meant. THE VINYLS ARE HERE! Now we’re prepping packaging, sending out for press and getting ready for the 7inch whip-out party in August.

ALSO! M.A. is back in action next Friday with a show in Lexington at The Green Lantern, Saturday at Bogart’s in Cincinnati (with our best friends Banderas & The Dukes),

then Wednesday June 15 in Cleveland at Bela Dubby, and Thursday at NXNE in Toronto at Slack’s

Tell your Ma, tell you Pa, Mad Anthony’s gonna drink some alcohol! OH BABY, listen to what I say!

It’s been an awesome week! we destroyed Chicago and Indianapolis! and now…. the 7-Inch Test Pressing is here! Tomorrow night we’re gonna kick Newport’s ass, and then down to Lexington for extra credit!

We played the Smiling Skull in Athens, OH a few days ago… it was awesome. I love when we go on to an empty room and by the end it’s filled and everyone is dancing, drinking, moshing, and yelling back at us. Can’t wait to return.

we’re playing the LAUNCH Music Conference & Festival in Lancaster, PA next Friday (April 22).

They chose our beautiful faces as the highlight of our stage at the Lizard Lounge, thus it seemed appropriate I post expressing our extreme excitement to be included in such an amazing festival.

We’ve got a bunch of new material we’ve written for our next record. We’ll also have pre-order forms available for our new split 7″ available at the festival (and online soon).

I’m excited for baseball season, despite the fact… it’s snowing! March 30th and it’s snowing! Whatever…

We spent the weekend in the studio. Laid down three, that’s right, THREE (3), new songs. One of these songs will be released this summer on a split 7-inch with our buddy’s The Yellow Belts from Lexington, KY! The other two, will eventually be released on our…. next record… which has no timeline (but we’re closer than you might think).

AND! the third important bulletin is CLIFTON HEIGHTS MUSIC FEST 4! We’re playing at midnight Friday April 1 @ The Mad Frog in Clifton. This is our first Clifton Heights Music Fest, and our first time at The Historic Mad Frog. ALSO! this is our first show since The Canadian Music Fest (which we dominated)… so it’s our first show in The USA.

Here’s how it went down in my head. We had an awesome tour, made some awesome friends, played awesome shows at awesome venues, and at some point during the tour we realized we’re a pretty awesome band. Not to be cocky! I’d hate to come off as some big-headed lead singer who thinks his band is the best in the world. BUT, I really like my band. So, I thought we deserved a more user-friendly website. I was tired of trying to build this awesome site that no one would ever see or use. I’d rather have bare bones simplicity.

along with some thoughts and opinions when we have time to fill you in.

Someday I’ll write a memoir on my experiences playing in Mad Anthony and all the shows we’ve played. Till then, a picture is worth a thousand words.
